= Witchfinder General Themes =

My alternate soundtrack to the 1960s Vincent Price horror film Witchfinder General. The original film was based on the grizzly and inhumane trials held by witch hunter Matthew Hopkins.

This has essentially been one of my many large scale side projects that I’d throw some bones into when not working on films like Catalytic Collision or my upcoming short Kafka’s Supermarket (which I’m currently collecting footage for and composing music to as I’m writing this). The Witchfinder General themes album started as what was meant to be a B-Side to my Nausea album, but it eventually grew to its own 14 track LP. Since I hadn’t written any music to straight narrative-based things for a while, I decided to tread back over some old ground by rescoring Witchfinder General. One of my earliest soundtracks (dated to late 2014 and early 2015) was to the same film. The music in this version has nothing to do with the 2015 soundtrack. Most of the music to this album was improvised.

Released August 8, 2018
